Employee Spotlight: Matthew Nafziger – MW Imaging

Employee Spotlight: Matthew Nafziger

What does your role entail?

What doesn’t it entail!  Day to day purchasing, internal sales, helping employees out when they are backed up, on-site customer visits, technical support, and manifesting!  I thoroughly enjoy learning about the newer systems and technology that is coming out.  I’ve been told i’m the Rain Man of ultrasound when it comes to rambling off part numbers as well.

How long have you been with MW Imaging?

11 Years

How did you start your career in this industry?

I started working for PartsSource back in 2007.  I originally started out in sales and then moved to sourcing.  I was doing all of the sourcing for anything related to Ultrasound and that is how I met Amber and Bob at Midwest Imaging now MW Imaging.  After I left PartsSource I was doing sales and marketing for a web design company located in Akron, OH.  On a very cloudy day in NE Ohio, Amber had reached out to me and was needing a quote for a website redesign and a rebrand of Midwest Imaging.  I referred them to an old colleague of mine who just started their own web design company.  After a few months, Amber had reached out seeing if I was interested in an inventory control job.  I flew down for the interview, everyone was very personable and friendly.  I accepted the job a week later and the rest is history.

What’s something surprising that not many people know about you?

I grew up in a family owned business where my dad still makes ice cream for a living.  We used to make all the Flintstone push-up’s for Nestle during the 1990’s.  Bedrock Berry was my favorite as a child because it turned my entire mouth blue.

What is one thing you can’t live without?

My family!  We just had a little boy last June and we have two Alaskan Klee Kai dogs named Maverick and Milton!

What’s your favorite type of food or cuisine?

I’m a sucker for Sushi.

If you could visit any place in the world, where would it be?

Austria or Iceland

If you could pick any superpower, what would it be and why?

Go back in time, I love history.
